the glitter banners.. well, kinda annoying, but its not my site. just letting you know that they are slowing down the load time for the affiliates box

Well, the whole site has become more graphic intensive and the affiliate box isn't quite working yet, so that may add to the fact. Anyway. I'm afraid I like it all the way it is and the glitter is going to stay.

i think the background should be glittery, and the catbars should be just regular

Well, having the background slittery makes the file a great deal bigger, cause it's an animation. I've tried that on another site and I couldn't find an image host which hosts such large files. Besides, I find animated backgrounds a lot more distracting. Imagine you're trying to read a story here and then you have a moving background in the corner of your eye all the time...

Well, they used to be animated. I actually removed them cause of my own old computer which took ages to load the site. I've got a new one now. It's ok like this, I guess.
